Alexej Rosik /28.4.1984/ was born in Banska Bystrica in a family with rich musician roots. He got his first violin as a four-year-old boy. In his artistic beginnings participated pedagogues from the Elementary artistic school in Banska Bystrica. As a child he showed to be versatile talented violinist with an excellent hearing and musical memory. In the age of 11 he became an exceptional pupil of the conservatory in Žilina, where he studied until 1999 below the direction of prof. Bohumil Urban. From 1999 to 2003 he studied the Prague conservatory below the direction of Prof. Jindřich Pazdera. In 2005 he gratuated from Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (B.A.) and 2008 he finished his studies at Sibelius Academy in Helsinki - class of prof. Alexander Vinnitski. In 2010 he gratuated from Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and same time he finished his studies at Hochschule für Music und Theater Hannover in class of prof. Lara Lev. He has been studiing in Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien in class of Prof. Jan Pospíchal since September 2011.

Alexej thanks to his intensive work achieved excellent results at internal and external contests. In 1994 and 1998 he obtained first prize and the title of laureate at the Children's Interpretive Festival in Banska Bystrica. In 1995 he represented Slovakia at the Middle European Festival of Concert Art in Žilina. In 1996 he became the laureate of the Workshop of Violins in Žilina, in 1997, 1998 won first place and obtained the title of laureate at an international contest ,,Čírenie Talentov" in Dolný Kubín. In 1999 he obtained honorary credit at an international radio competition ,,Concertino Praga". He participated altogether six times in Kocian's Violin Competition in Ústi nad Orlici where he apart from other awards obtained third prize in 1997 and 2000. In the same year he succesfully took part in an international competition of H. Wieniawski in Lublin in Poland. In 2003 he obtained first prize for best interpretation of Bohuslav Martinu in Reichenau, Austria. From 1995 to 1998 he yearly participated in International Interpretive Courses in Piešťany, where he developed his talent below the direction of excellent violinists - Eduard Grach, Igor Bezrodny and Mintcho Mintchev. He also attended masterclasses under Hagai Shaham, Alexander Vinnitski, Lara Lev, Paul Roczek, Eszter Perényi. He succesfully appeared on concerts in England, Finland, Germany, Italy, Holland, Norway, Japan, Thailand, USA, etc.

He co-operated as an soloist with excellent orchestras in the Czech Republic and in Slovakia. He learned with the Slovak Philharmonic the Concert for Violin no. 2 d-minor, op. 22 from H. Wieniawski. He performed the Fantasia on the Themes of the G. Bizet's opera Carmen, op. 25 from P. de Sarasate with the National chamber orchestra in Žilina. At the international festival of young concert artists Talentinum in Zlín he appeared with the Concert for Violin D-major from N. Paganini with the Philharmonic of Bohuslav Martinů. With the Slovak chamber orchestra of Bohdan Warchal he attended many concerts in Slovakia. He often co-operates with National Opera Orchestra in Slovakia. Since year 2007 he has been invited to lead Britten-Pears Festival Orchestra in Aldeburgh, England.

During season 2011/2012 he plays as Concertmaster of The National Theatre at Prague.
